Eden – The Feeling/Friction

There is so much deep house music in circulation at the moment that it is becoming harder and harder to find something that stands out and deserves that ‘add to basket’ click. Well this debut release from 19 year old Eden from North London is worth a click, a blog post and a whole lot of general commotion.

Released on New State Music, the first track of the EP ’The Feeling’ opens with cut up vocals complimented by sprinkles of hats and catchy keys. Slap a long sweeping filter over the top and your soon met by a ’check this out’ vocal sample, which are wise words indeed as you’re greeted by a gorgeous modern deep house drop. The structure of the track is simple, yet the production is remarkably accomplished for a debut release from someone of his age. An undoubtedly catchy track that embodies everything that’s so good about deep house music in 2013.

The second track ’Friction’ takes down the bpm a few notches and builds up with a beautiful Jazz infused opening over the top of strong looped female vocals. The track is a much deeper affair than ‘The Feeling‘ yet is still undeniably bouncy with an upbeat Detroit feel to it. With early support from the likes of Bondax, Skream & Benga and Citizen we have no doubt here at Shut The Front Door that Eden has a very exciting future ahead of him.
